"Here is a trustworthy saying: Whoever aspires to be an overseer desires a noble task."
The scripture above, from 1 Timothy, makes two strong points:
1. The task of overseer is considered noble or, in other words, admirably high quality, superior or excellent. This calling, and the skill-
set needed for it, is a God-appointed one to be taken seriously.
2. The task should be a desired one. It must be! It's often thankless and often under heavy scrutiny.
The reality is that most church overseer's are unpaid volunteers. They balance families, jobs and hobbies along with church administration and shepherding work. While it may be a noble task, it's a tough one at times - and we're here to help.
